Masako's Story

In the latter half of my 30's, a family problem raised and at the same time my youngest son started school. Meanwhile I just wanted to get a job but I had been at home since I had my daughter. It's not only that my office skills were not updated I also lacked confidence, which kept me in the same place. I had a desire to change my situation but I didn't know how.

I was so tired physically and mentally. At that time I happened to meet a reflexologist. The therapist's hands were warm, and the gentle touch led me to a tranquil place. The experience of reflexology brought me back to childhood. It was amazing that all my negative emotions were revealed through the hands. An idea dawned on me.

After a month or so I went to Milton Keynes College as a part-time student. I took 3 years to become a qualified therapist, and then I set up my business. Everything seemed to be running well. When business ran well the balance between work and housework became a big trouble. Working as a self-employed, the quantity of work affected the income directly. I just felt stuck in the mud and couldn't get out. I nearly had to throw out my job.

"A drowning man will clutch at a straw" I attended several courses at Women & Work that my friend kindly offered me. That was my first step to new life. Women & Work helped me to change a way of thinking and attitude. All the people I met in the course supported each other, even now. I have valuable tools in my mind. Thanks to Women & Work giving me a real focus change. It is my pleasure to support people who wish to come alive again. A range of treatments is available.
