Sammy's Story

My name is Sammy and I am a single mum of three children.

I first heard about Women & Work through the Job Centre. At the time, I was stuck in a rut, hadn't worked for 12 years and didn’t have any ideas which direction my life was taking. I needed help!

My first course – 'Interpersonal Skills Course' was run by Avril. The support system was, and still is, fantastic for both the course work and on a personal level. Special thanks to Avril.

The change it had on my life? I have so much confidence, friends and family have noticed how much more positive I am in my outlook. I can talk to people without feeling all those knots in my stomach! I have gone on to do other courses, again with Women & Work.

The best thing Women & Work has given me is a new me, who is confident, happy and optimistic. I love it – and I finally like me!

To all of you ladies who are stuck in a rut, with feelings of a bleak future, pick up the phone and have a chat with one of the group workers. Your life will change for the better.
